For admission in Bachelor's degree in tourism, you can prepare for the entrance of Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management-Noida/ Gwalior, Chandigarh University, Punjab University, Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Milia Islamia University, BHU, LPU, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, etc. There are many colleges for this. For Masters in Tourism Management, you can prepare for CAT as most of the colleges accept CAT score. Otherwise, you can prepare for the entrance exam of IITTM.

It could have been beneficial to take degree while working in the same field but as your question is self-explanatory when one reads the last two words. More benefit comes when you get exposure directly along with the degree. If that does. It happen complete benefits cannot be and should not be expected.

There are AICTE and UGC approved courses. Four-year HMCT from leading universities or three years under B.Sc HMCT are good choices. Also, Diploma courses are offered. Oberoi Hotels offer STEP programmes. You can visit the website.
