Today, Hotel Management is not only restricted to hotels but has gone a long way to catering, clubs, food and beverage industry, resorts, airlines, cruise and many more. The hotel management forms a big part of the tourism, and the government too is in favor of investing in it and supporting it in every way possible. Now, coming to your question, your 12th standard marks are not relevant if you look to pursue any skill based professional degree.
There is huge demand for skilled manpower in Hospitality Industry. The program includes industrial training where the student learns from the industry as well. For IT of 6 months, student can opt for India or Abroad.

Event management and hotel management both are lucrative jobs where you get an opportunity to travel and meet people from different backgrounds. I personally Feel though event has a lot of work like coordination, budgeting etc. But it is not that tough as you have a proper team who does everything.
