Hotel and hospitality industry is a fast growing sector and contribute about 9% in employment. In 2015, it was contributing 6.9% to our country's GDP and expected to be contributed 7.5% by 2025. Today, Hotel Management is not only restricted to hotels but has gone a long way to catering, clubs, food and beverage industry, resorts, airlines, cruise and many more. The hotel management forms a big part of the tourism, and the government too is in favor of investing in it and supporting it in every way possible. One may be expected to work in the following departments, i.e. management, housekeeping, hospitality, front office operations

It is important to understand that Hotel Management is 80% practical course and only 20% theory. Moreover, it is a skill based program which has plenty of job opportunities in India as well as abroad.
Now, coming to your question, your 12th standard marks are not relevant if you look to pursue any skill based professional degree.
There is huge demand for skilled manpower in Hospitality Industry. The program includes industrial training where the student learns from the industry as well. For IT of 6 months, student can opt for India or Abroad.

Generally speaking, there is no difference between Hospitality Management & Hotel Management and both are frequently used interchangeably in the academics as well as industry. But Technically, Hotel Management is a part of Hospitality Management which comprises of Culture, Tourism and other services sector along with Hotels & Restaurants. So, both the students work in almost same industry and study almost same subjects. Good luck

Eligibility as per the website: Candidate must be a graduate from a recognised college /university. But most of the college accept final year students also who will be completing their last semester before May-June. At the time of applying, candidates studying in three-year degree programmes should have passed all subjects from first to fourth semesters; while candidates studying in four-year degree programmes should have passed in all subjects for first to sixth semester.

Event management and hotel management both are lucrative jobs where you get an opportunity to travel and meet people from different backgrounds. I personally Feel though event has a lot of work like coordination, budgeting etc. But it is not that tough as you have a proper team who does everything.
