Depending on what kind of application you are doing for studying MS programs in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, you can go through some of it without work experience.
For example, the MS in Clinical Research programme does not require any relevant work experience.
Instead, it evaluates applicants based on their academic records, recommendation letters, and GRE or TOEFL/IELTS scores. While any research or pertinent internship experience would certainly add value to your application, there is no prerequisite for it.

The campus of the university comprises of a number of departments, institutes, and centers related to medicinal research theories. Acceptance rate of Icahn School of Medicine is in between 1.5 percentage to 3.4 percentage. This is suggestive of the fact that the college has very low acceptance rates. For the class of year 2025 out of 8000 applications only 800 students were interviewed and it finally only 120 students had to be selected. The in state acceptance rate is 2.5 percentage whereas the out of state acceptance rate is only 0.4 percentage. It is slightly easy for the in state students to get accepted.

Yes, Icahn School of medicine is good for international students. The student population is from Cameroon, Dominican Republic, France, Germany and United States. There is a need based financial aid for International students that includes schoarships and loans. Admissions are based on the merit and general pool of applications, the requirements includes the B1 visa and a minimum TOEFL score of 22 to 30. Such an easy criteria is an attracting point for the International students.

Application fees of Icahn School of Medicine is INR 7000. The cost of the MS course is INR 26 lakh to INR 34.29 lakh, the cost of MDS course is INR 40.05 lakh, the cost of MPh course is INR 19.32 lakh. These costs are slightly high when compared to costs of the other colleges. However, these costs can also be met by availing different types of scholarships.
