This is because if you are already studying a degree course in Ireland, this means that you ahve proven your proficiency in the language both to the university and the visa officers. Hence, you are sufficient enough to converse in the language.
Since the IELTS test is not a necessary requirement to work for employers in Ireland, showcasing English language proficiency through alternative methods may prove advantageous. However, some employers might still require an IELTS score based on the nature of the job.

Yes, the abroad study without IELTS is possible. Candidates planning to study abroad must submit proof of school certificates stating that they have studied English as a subject from the 8th to 12th standard. Some universities require students to attain IELP (Intensive English Language Program) to get admission.

The IELTS score required to take admission to Western Sydney University, Sydney City campus is minimum 6.5 overall. Other test scores required in the English language proficiency tests are:
- TOEFL: 82 (Writing: 21; Speaking: 18; Reading & Listening: 13)
- PTE: 58
