IELTS

IELTS is frequently required for international students to be admitted to Teesside University, especially for English-taught undergraduate and graduate programs. A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 to 6.5 is typically required by the university, with no individual band score falling below 5.5 or 6.0, depending on the degree. By imposing this requirement, students are guaranteed to possess the level of English ability required to thrive in an academic setting.

Teesside University does, however, provide considerable leeway for candidates who do not fulfil the IELTS criteria. An exemption can be available to you if you are from an English-speaking nation or have studied in English in the past.

Depending on the program's language of instruction, Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) Munich may require overseas students to take the IELTS. The IELTS is one of the recognised examinations for demonstrating English language competency, which is required for programs taught in that language. Although some programs may have more stringent prerequisites, generally speaking, applicants must have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or above. English proficiency is normally not required for programs taught in German; instead, students must demonstrate their competency in the German language with assessments such as TestDaF or DSH. However, if a programme offers coursework in both German and English, it may require both languages to be proficient. 

Indeed, as part of the admissions process, overseas students must demonstrate their English language competency, and one of the recognised examinations for this purpose is the overseas English Language Testing System (IELTS). The majority of undergraduate and graduate programs typically require an IELTS score of 6.5 to 7.0 overall, with no individual band score falling below 6.0 or 6.5, depending on the school. Certain degrees may have more demanding criteria, particularly in areas like business, law, and health sciences. Alternative options, including English language preparatory classes, may be offered by the university to applicants who do not meet the IELTS criteria. Students who have finished specific English-language courses are also eligible, as are other English proficiency exams including the TOEFL, PTE, and Cambridge English.
