No, IGNOU does not ask students to pay the full fees in one go. The fee payment is done in two halves in a year. Candidates have to re-register in order to pay the fees. The fee payment can be made online. Candidates should keep the fee payment receipt with them for future references.

Once you get admission in IGNOU in distance education, students have to submit assignments, appear for term end exam and if required submit practical file. 

  • Assignments: Students can check the assignment on the official website of IGNOU as per their year of admission. Students have to submit the assignment within the specified time to their designated study centre. Some study centre might accept online submission. However, it is advised to submit a hard copy as well. Assignment has weightage of 30%.
  • Term End Exam: Term End Exam are conducted two times a year-one in December and other in June. Candidates can check the datesheet

 It is compulsory to carry IGNOU ID-Card when appearing for the exam. However, in case a students forgets to bring the same, he or she can show an identity proof like Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, etc. Most of the exam centres accept identity proof in such cases but to avoid any kind of conflict, students must carry their IGNOU ID-Card along with an identity proof and admit card.
