IIIT Trichy offers two specialisations for MTech; Computer Science & Engineering and VLSI Systems. For admission to the MTech programme, candidate's IIIT Trichy MTech programme candidates must have bachelor's degree with 60% aggregate. Also candidates must have a valid score in the GATE exam and go through the CCMT counselling. Additionally, candidates have to complete the entire admission process as per the Institution's admission guidelines.

IIIT Trichy doesn't offer free admission. Candidates must pay the course specific tuition fee for admission to the offered programme. However, candidates who have successfully admitted in the institution can opt for the central/government scholarship accepted by IIIT Trichy. Candidates willing to get admission at IIIT Trichy must have a valid score in various national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, GATE, UGC NET, and CSIR NET, followed by counseling for respective courses.

IIIT Trichy Admission Process is a multi-step process that is done in complete online mode. Candidates first have to apply for their desired courses by filling the online application form for the course-specific entrance exam. After appearing for the respective entrance exams, candidates have to apply for the counseling process for the final seat allotment. Once the application rounds are completed candidates have to go through the selection rounds where candidates are shortlisted based on their entrance exam's score. The placement is average from this institute generally the highest package is around 20 Lacs from this university wiyh around 9.9 Lacs is the average package of this institute and the placement record is around 82 percent last yesr and in 2021 it is just 63 percent. The top recruoters fron his college are infosys wipro accenture flipkart and top fintech companies alsp participated this so far in 2023 for placement and this thisyear placement may touch around 90percent.
