The cutoff for admission to the B.Tech. The Aerospace Engineering program at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) in Trivandrum is determined based on JEE Advanced ranks. For the general category, the 2023 cutoff ranged from an opening rank of 192 to a closing rank of 860. For other categories:

  • EWS: 105 to 171
  • OBC: 159 to 426
  • SC: 55 to 169
  • ST: 5 to 54

Due to the limited number of students at IIST, all of them have excellent placement opportunities. If you have a CGPA of 7.5 or above, you have the chance to be recruited by prestigious companies such as ISRO, Bosch, Benz Mahindra, Tata, and more.During 2023 placements, the highest package offered to BTech and Dual Degree students was INR 16.60 LPA and INR 13.20 LPA, respectively. Out of 77 M.Tech students who appeared for the drive, 51 were placed during IIST placements 2023. The total number of offers made to M.Tech (including intern and full-time) was 99.

When the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is to accepting applications, you have to apply online via their official website in order to get the admission form. Undergraduate, graduate and doctorate programs are normally offered by IIST with national entrance exams are such as JEE Advanced being the primary means of admission for B.Tech programs. Registration on the IIST admissions portal completion of the necessary information and payment of the application fee to comprise the application process.

There is a great demand for avionic expert in defence establishments across the globe. After graduating from IIST you can join in ISRO, DRDO, NAL or CABS as avionic scientist and would be working on radar communication or navigation control. Through UPSC you can join in DGCA as Airc traffic controller or Communication engineer.

IIST was set up in the year 2007 by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Department of Space, Government of India.
