Great opportunities, mixed hostel vibes, but worth it for the IIT tag.
Placements: I graduated from the Environmental Engineering batch of 2K21-25, and honestly, placements are pretty solid. Around 85-90% of students in my course got placed. The highest package was 45 LPA, while the average was around 15-18 LPA, depending on the branch. Top recruiters included big names like Google, Microsoft, Schlumberger, Tata Steel, and ONGC. Roles varied from Software Developer, Data Analyst, Mining Engineer, to Petroleum Engineer, so there is something for everyone. The placement cell is quite supportive. Many students convert their internships into PPOs.
Infrastructure: I am part of the 2K21-25 batch, and overall, the infrastructure is decent. Classrooms are well-maintained, Wi-Fi is available but patchy at times, and labs have the necessary equipment, though some need upgrades. The library is huge. Hostel life was manageable. Rooms were okay, but not luxurious. Mess food is hit or miss. Some days are edible, some days are emotional damage. The canteen has better options, and the sports facilities are actually good. Medical facilities are available, but basic. Overall, the infrastructure is good, and it's the IIT guys.
Faculty: All faculty profs are super helpful and know their stuff. Teaching quality varies, but if you show interest, most teachers respond well. The curriculum is mostly relevant, especially for core subjects. It does help in placements and internships. Exams are conducted on time. The pass percentage is decent. If you study regularly, you're good. No last-minute surprises, but, some papers are tricky. Overall, the academic vibe is serious but not suffocating.
Other: I chose Environmental Engineering because I am genuinely interested in the field, and IIT ISM has a strong reputation for it. Things that could improve are faster curriculum updates. Events like Srijan and Concetto are major highlights. The crowd is competitive but friendly. There's a good mix of extracurriculars, from coding clubs to dance groups. Scholarships are available for eligible students, and the surroundings are peaceful, though not super urban.

My college, in my opinion.
Placements: About 70% of students are placed every year in my college. The highest package is about 20 LPA, and the lowest is about 6 LPA on campus. About 80% of students get internship opportunities, and they work very hard for them, acquiring good knowledge from this.
Infrastructure: Facilities are quite good in my college, it is a tier 1 college in India. Hostels are quite poor, but students live peacefully here. Wi-Fi facility is also available, and students acquire good knowledge. The medical facilities are also available, which is good. You can go for it.
Faculty: Teachers are very good in my college. They are very supportive and help us both mentally and socially. The course curriculum also supports building a good future for engineers, but the semester exams are difficult. You can study throughout the year for good marks.
Other: I personally chose this college because of my interest. It is a reputed college in India and one of the top ones. It holds 2-3 annual fests, and we enjoy them along with our studies.

Awesome way to become a good IIT.
Placements: On average, around 80-85% of students were recruited. In my course, it reaches around 95%. In my course most likely CTC will be 8-10 LPA for the training period (1 year ) then it increases after that and it may hit 18-20 LPA. In recent times, companies took 2-4 students on average, and the famous companies were Vedanta, GMDC, Reliance, IFFCO, etc. Tata was a big company but not this time. For internships, companies like Tata just take 2- 3 students, however, in noncore it's up to your potential (competition for top branch students).
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is spread over campus. Grounds and roads are not that good. The library has its own Wi-Fi network, classroom doesn't have any dedicated Wi-Fi. Hostel food is hostel food no surprise but we were working to improve it other than getting a canteen. There are some food outlets in each hostel. The campus has some water coolers. Some water coolers are working, but some are not. The hostel has a paid laundry. The campus has a salon. The greenery is good. The college has a health center. Sports and games were good enough. The college has social and teach clubs.
Faculty: Faculty members are good enough. Some are kind some are strict, and ECE and CSE faculty are most strict. Teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant but industry exposure is limited to mining and mechanical departments, exam difficulty and pattern depend on the professor.
Other: The main attraction is the IIT badge, the best thing about this course is as India is a developing country it will need environment engineers in the future, and good opportunities in foreign countries. The course should increase humanity subjects. Fests and events were organized regularly, the campus felt a little crowded compared to other IITs, connectivity was good by road and railways, and the campus is surrounded by Basti. Scholarship opportunities are good enough and u will be informed by institute mail, extracurricular activities are just okay other IITs have better ways to facilitate among students.

Good infrastructure, good faculty but average placements.
Placements: Around 70%-75% of students got placed. The highest salary offered is 1 crore per annum and the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Depending on the year and overall market demand for the course. Top recruiters are Amazon, Google, Sprinkler, Wipro, Infosys, Morgan Stanley, Microsoft, and many more.
Infrastructure: Labs are good, one will not face any problem generally. But, classrooms are average and there is no air conditioning in any classroom of new lecture hall complex. The best part is the hostel, it is just awesome. Mess food is also good. Students get 5 days non-vegeterian food in a week. Rooms of the hostel are also good. In first year, students will have to live in Amber Hostel in which they will have to share their room with someone.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, but exams are very hectic like they take exams without even a break of a day which is not good. Passing semester exams is not that easy, about 90% of students passed. The teaching quality varies across departments. Some faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable, making the concepts clear and engaging, while others are less effective in delivering practical knowledge. Their helpfulness depends on individual faculty members, with some being approachable and supportive, and others less so.

Good placement in 2024, average infrastructure and good facilities.
Placements: Above 70% of students were placed in my course. 49.2 Lacs per annum is the highest placement of my course. Around 12 Lacs per annum, which is 12.5 Lacs per annum, is the average placement in my course. 11.88 Lacs per annum is the median package in my course. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, Google, ONGC, etc.
Infrastructure: In the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, there is a huge library and I2H building, which has great infrastructure. The department building has below average infrastructure, and the Heritage Building has average infrastructure. Wi-Fi speed is low at the hostel, medical facilities are good, but the mess food is poor. Sports and games are too good.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are very helpful and Ph.D. qualified from respected institutes like IIST Bengaluru, MNIT Allahabad, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. Some are research scholars from Japan. They are knowledgeable, teaching quality is good above average, but delivery quality is average.
Other: This course is based on the environment. I chose this course because of my rank, but it is good. The best thing is that it focuses on environmental aspects, the numerical part is better, but I want to remove the extra theory part. Concetto, Srijan, are fests of ISM.

I am very much satisfied with my college and my course and would recommend others to join.
Placements: About 80 percent of students get placed in my course. The highest placement is 49.22 LPA, the lowest is 7 LPA, and the average is 14.75 LPA in my course. Top recruiters for my course are Microsoft India, Cairn Oil and Gas, etc. 70 percent of students got internships in companies like Tata Steel, Adani Group, NTPC, etc. The role offered in my course is to look after the environmental impact due to manufacturing in companies and how to improve company growth sustainably.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are literally very good. The whole campus is well covered by Wi-Fi. Classrooms are very good with a big smart board, a big projector, and a mic system for better understanding and smart learning. The library has top-class facilities with thousands of books, e-books, etc. The hostel facility is also very good with nice rooms, good quality mess food, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are very nice and supportive. They have good qualifications and are knowledgeable. The courses are also designed nicely to cover most of the important aspects and are relevant. Yes, it makes the students industry-ready as they also have practical classes. The semester exams are of moderate difficulty. The pass percentage is very good as most of the students pass the exam.
Other: I chose my environmental engineering course because I wanted to add my input in improving our environment at the industry level. I would wish the strength of the batch should increase as we have a very small batch. There are many fests organized to improve the mental health of students and add moments of joy, like Concetto, Khanaan, etc.

Satisfied with faculty members. Placements should improve, especially in my branch.
Placements: My batch is nice. Super smart students, and many of my seniors got internships with 80% placements. The highest and lowest package were 48 LPA and 7 LPA, respectively. It should improve. Companies like TATA, FLIPKART, and Microsoft visited for placements in college.
Infrastructure: The library is Asia's largest library. Facilities are nice. Hostel food needs some improvement. Every sports facility is available. Overall, the infrastructure of the college is nice. The campus has a lot of greenery. There are too many canteens for food. Every daily need item is available. The health center is also there, having good facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are well-experienced and nice. They have experience in research in different countries. They teach the relevant curriculum. The semester exams are not so difficult. The paper pattern is relevant and based on materials given by faculty members. There is a CGPA grading criteria.
Other: Events are nice and chilled.

Very nice and green campus.
Placements: In my course, the maximum package was around 56 Lacs and the minimum, I think, is 10 Lacs. In this, 2 students got a 42 Lacs package in Microsoft. Overall, the packages are good, and my branch, which is Environmental Engineering, is also good. In this course, we have time to upgrade our skills.
Infrastructure: In the first year, we have Amber Hostel, which contains 4 blocks (A, B, C, D). Each block has around 300 rooms. In the next year, we shifted to Aquamarine Hostel, which I think is the tallest building in whole Dhanbad. It contains 14 floors. And we have the second biggest library in all of Asia.
Faculty: Teachers in my college are very helpful; a little are not, but yes, they are helpful. I think the course curriculum is good. We have some tours in this course, which makes the student industry-ready. In the first year, we have two semesters. One is hard, relatively, and one is easy. But the hard semester is not that hard.
