Decent academics, good placements, & vibrant college life. At the end college with a strong culture.

Placements: My branch is EE, and about 85% of students are placed, with the highest package is 36 LPA, and the average is 16 LPA. Also, about 30% to 45% of pre-final year students get internships. Companies like Google, Microsoft, De-Shaw, JSW, Reliance, TATA, Accenture, and many software companies come for placements as well as internships.

Infrastructure: Recently, we got a new hostel, Aquamarine, which has 13 floors with all kinds of facilities, including Wi-Fi, a common room for indoor sports, washing machines, etc. Hostels provide good basic facilities for B.Tech students with double-sharing rooms. The mess food is not good. Medical facilities are good, as we have a Health Centre with about 5-8 doctors on day shifts. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards, projectors, etc., and ACs be installed soon. Sports facilities are also very good, like in every IIT.

Faculty: Most teachers are well-qualified and have a good understanding of the core subjects. Some professors are very helpful and approachable, but there are many whose teaching quality is not good or who are not good at delivering what they know. But they are full of knowledge if we ask them one-on-one questions.

Other: I choose IITISM Dhanbad as it has solid academics, decent placements, and the IIT tag. The course offers good facilities and structured learning. Fests like Srijan and Concetto add vibrancy and the student crowd is great, focused, and friendly. The campus is peaceful and has active clubs.

IIT Dhanbad- the underrated old IIT.

Placements: Electrical is considered to be a circuital branch and has a bit of edge on the placement side. Almost 80% of students get placed which is decent. The average package ranges from 15-20 LPA. The highest package is 60 LPA. The course structure and professors are new and developing.

Infrastructure: The course does not have a separate building for itself but there is a new academic building. It has one of the prominent hostels here which is 13 floors and capacity to accommodate over 2,000 students.

Faculty: There has been a change in faculty members recently. Faculty members have been going on a shift towards the younger generation. The course has become new yet difficult. Efforts are being made to enhance it more and clubs, etc., do contribute to it here much.

Other: It has a good senior-junior culture.

ISM - The college of dream and success.

Placements: The placement starts in 4th year. About 90% of students get placed. The highest package in electrical department is 59 LPA. The average package is about 21 LPA. The median package is 18 LPA. The lowest package is 8 LPA. Top recruiters are Texas Instruments, Bajaj, and Jaguar. About 90 students got internship opportunities out of 138 students, and most are in the technical field.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty decent. Library is the best part of this college. It is Asia's second-largest technical library and has great book availability. Classrooms are average, and Wi-Fi facility is also average. Hostels are very good but mess food is not that good. Canteens have better food but not that higiene. Medical facility is pretty good in this college. College has average sports facility and gym facility.

Faculty: Teachers are pretty good and have very good knowledge. Some teachers like Haswanth Vundavilli are very good. Teachers are very helpful to the students. The teaching quality is not that good but some are very good. This curriculum will make you industry-ready. Semester exams are hard as it comprised of end-semester and mid-semester. The SGPA of above 8 is considered very good.

Other: I qualified JEE Advanced to get admission for this course. This course will make you industry-ready and make you aware about different technologies. This college has three different fests, cultural fest is called Srijan, Technical fest is called Concetto, and sports fest is called Parakarm and football of Srijan offers Rs 50,000 to winners.

Exploring campus life with learning and fun.

Placements: College provides placement and internship opportunities. Around 70% to 80% of students got placed for full-time hiring. The highest package is 65 LPA, and the average package is around 17 LPA to 22 LPA. Top recruiting companies are tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and core companies. 40% to 50% of students got internship offers. Software development engineering role is most offered in my course.

Infrastructure: Hostel is fully equipped with Wi-Fi and the best facilities are provided like in a 3-star hotel. The food quality is good as per standard and they offer different regional food too. There is facility for indoor games in hostel premises. Hostel provides a night canteen facility for students.

Faculty: Faculty members are well-educated and experienced. They have good educational backgrounds from foreign and they have expertise in research areas. Semester exam are moderate to hard. Course is relevant and up to the modern need of engineering to solve the real world problems.

Other: I chose this college and course because of IIT college and the circuital branch which provides greater opportunities to excel in life. There are many fest organised throughout the years. Srijan is a socio-cultural fest in month of February. Concetto is a technical management fest in October. Parakaram is sports fest in March.

Beautiful life of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.

Placements: Good placement states, the highest salary package offered is 1.1 crores and the lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA till now. This year also the highest salary package offered by Square Point with a CTC of 66 LPA and the average salary package offered is 17 LPA. The highest placement is in Computer Science and Petroleum Engineering branch. Top recruiting companies are Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Meesho, Myntra, Texas Instruments, Bajaj, HPCL, BPCL PhonePay, Paytm, and many more. PSU also visits and hires in good numbers. Overall placement states are good.

Infrastructure: Good infrastructure is available. Wi-Fi is available for the entire campus with good connectivity. Classroom is like a theatre shape with a smart board and projector also. Library is well furnished with centralized air-conditioners and plenty of books available. Sports facilities are available with a very big swimming pool. Health centre is also available 24/7 on campus itself for medical facilities.

Faculty: Professors are very qualified. All of them have done their Ph.D. from renowned colleges. They are very helpful and the quality of teaching is very good but they are also very strict with discipline and 75% attendance criteria. Course curriculum is well designed and the examination is divided into 4 parts 2 quizzes of 10 marks each 1 midsem and 1 endsem are of 30 marks and 50 marks weightage respectively. Exam questions are mainly from the class notes shared by professors.

Overall review of college and campus life.

Placements: It is a great college. The campus life is great, and you will not regret joining it. The professors are decent, as it is IIT. Placements are also good. The placement ratio is about 85% on and off-campus. The highest package is 55 LPA, and the median is 13 LPA till last year. The top companies are Amazon, Flipkart, Google, etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is awesome, as well as the hostel. The hostels are highly maintained. The quality of food is also great. The hostel life at IIT is the best, and you will miss it. In the first year, we will have to study all courses, and the core subject is Electrical and Electronics. We also study Maths, Physics, Computer Programming, Algorithms, etc. 24*7 medical facilities are available on campus. We also have accessibility to experience different sports like basketball, cricket, etc., with a well-qualified and trained coach. The fests are also great. We have 3 fests.

Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also awesome, as they are professors from IITs. Yes, the course and the curriculum are very relevant. The semesters are moderately tough, but if you study, you will score well.

Good placements but very less students opt for higher degrees from this college.

Placements: 80 percent of students get placed. The highest package offered on campus was 66 LPA. Circuit branch students mostly go for tech jobs, with very few core companies (4-5) visiting the campus. Sixty percent of people get an internship. Top roles offered are in core and tech. Mainly tech jobs are offered, or in core, petroleum students have about 90% placements, including government jobs.

Infrastructure: The course is fine but a bit hard and involves maths and physics deeply. The hostels are pretty fine, but the mess quality is poor. New hostels have been made this year as well, and the campus is advancing through the years. It will complete a century in 2026. The medical facility is fine. Ambulance cars are available 24/7, and doctors are almost readily available in the campus hospital.

Faculty: Teachers are fine but not so reliable. I would recommend not opting for the lower branches of this college except for the petroleum branch. The difficulty of examinations is moderate. The pass percentage is around 30%. People often get backlogs for less than 75% attendance.

Other: Please go only for circuit or petroleum branches if offered. Take lower branches in top IITs; it's not worth it going for lower branches of this college. Normal IIT scholarships work here. Apart from that, many institutes roll out their scholarship offers as well.

Chance to explore IIT Dhanbad .

Placements: In my batch, about 82% of students were placed in my branch. The highest package of my branch was approximately 48 Lacs last year and on average, the package was 10-12 Lacs. As per my information, 60 to 70% of students got internships, and it changed based on other facts and requirements.

Infrastructure: The faculty of my branch are good; there are many teachers who interact friendly and take extra class to manage the academic course. In hostels there is free lane Wi-Fi and also free BSNL Wi-Fi on campus. Here, Asia's second-highest library is available for students who can prepare for any exams by self-study.

Faculty: Teachers are friendly and solve all doubts if you have any doubts related to the course. There are many teachers who graduated from different types of colleges with Ph.D.s in their field. The exam pattern is also good. There is 75% attendance mandatory for the exam.
