IIT Mandi - Indian Institute of Technology

Applicants with a three or four-year BSc degree in a relevant field from an accredited university or institute are eligible to apply for admission to the MSc course at IIT Mandi. The exact qualifying requirements are listed in the regulations that are periodically authorised by the institute's senate and released by the institute for admission in each year. JEE application fee for boys is INR 1,000, INR 800 for girls, and INR 500 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category students. Candidates applying for MTech, need to pay GATE application fee for boys, which is INR 1,700, INR 850 for girls, and INR 850 for SC/ST/PwD category students. Only after the payment of application fees, the form is successfully submitted.

The institute offers over 30 courses in the streams of Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences, Science, IT & Software. The UG/PG courses offered by the institute are BTech,  MTech,  BS,  MA, etc. In addition, PhD and certificate courses are also offered. IIT Mandi offers courses in full-time and part-time modes, as well as online courses.

Yes, the technology institute offers M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering specialisation. Admission to the course is through GATE followed by COAP counselling. Candidates with a score as per the cutoff marks are selected for admission. Candidates with a BTech degree issued by a recognised university are eligible to take admission.

The total tuition fee for MTech course ranges between INR 20,000 - INR 64,000 . It must be noted that the mentioned fee is as per the first odd semester fees available and hence is the mentioned amount can vary. MTech candidates can apply for HTRA scholarship of INR 12,400 in IIT Mandi. Aspirants applying for the scholarship shall ensure that they fulfil the eligibility requirements. For admission to an M.Tech course, the aspirant shall have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology or MSc or MCA with at least 60% aggregate in the relevant discipline from a recognised university. In addition, applicants with BE/ AMIE exam scores can also apply. Further, at the time of admission confirmation and form filling, the candidate must hold the important documents for verification purposes.

Aspirants with a valid bachelor’s degree in the relevant specialisation are eligible to apply for the PG course. Admission to M.Tech at IIT Mandi is based on merit in GATE followed by COAP counselling. Candidates with a score equal to more than the cutoff become eligible to participate in the counselling round. In addition, IIT graduates with an 8.0 CGPA or above are exempted from the GATE score requirement and can apply directly.
