Yes, you will definitely get admission in IIT for the preparatory course at a rank of 50 in SC preparatory course list. Just go for it and give your best in this 1-year of preparation.

Just write a letter under whom you are Interested to work, attach your resume and cover letter just mail them you can get their contact information from the institute website for example if NIT, Warangal, you can get it from Nitw.ac.in. Good luck. They will then reply to you if they want you to work with them or not.

Since every college is having their entrance exams even the probate universities are having the entrance exams so there are very few colleges giving admission on the basis of class 12th board. Also, getting information regarding that is quite difficult so better prepare for any entrance exam.

IIT Dhanbad is not actually an IIT, it is ISM Dhanbad, the famous institution for mine engineering. IIT Jodhpur is a new IIT as compared to ISM Dhanbad, so no placement data will be available for you to judge which one is better, in this case, go for the IIT that is old and established I.e. ISM Dhanbad
