B.Sc Biotechnology course is a 3 years long course. Biotechnology is a combination of two subjects- Biology and Technology. Hence, this is combination of Biology and Engineering and aims at putting concepts of both these subjects together. The eligibility criteria for this course is class 12th with PCB/PCM. Many private businesses are exploring this field and heavily investing in it. Most of the job opportunities for Biotechnology graduates in private sector. Government sector too offers job opportunities, but not in the scale in which private sector does. Few prominent industries where Biotechnology professionals may find jobs are- Pharmaceuticals Industry, Healthcare sector, Chemical Industry and Research sector. B.Sc in Physiotherapy is a demanding course where students are placed in health institutes, hospitals etc. Or they can start their own practice as well. Given the change in lifestyle and increase of sedentary lifestyle the human body is more prone to pains and injuries. Physiotherapy is used to help them regain their life balance once again. In my opinion B.Sc Physiotherapy is better over Biotechnology.

The career opportunities are immense in private, educational, corporate and governmental sectors. You can work either onshore or offshore. The latter is quite demanding as you have to stay away from the land for months on end. However, if a government job is what you want, Marine engineering can land you up in the Naval services. Apart from the lucrative salary and perks, it is a matter of pride and joy to serve the country in the waters. Aspirants can also get opportunities in marine metals and corrosion, renewable energy, remote sensing, offshore oil recovery, underwater vehicles and marine transportation. Starting off as a Fifth (junior) engineer, the promotions depends on the efficiency shown. The remuneration increases with annual promotions. However, a trainee engineer can expect around 30,000 to 40,000 per month. After gaining knowledge about the field, the salary amount is extremely lucrative. Off-shore engineers even get the status of an NRI.
