Indian Institute of Art and Design has a seat intake of 40 for its BA course in Fashion Design. Candidates are admitted to the course as per this seat intake. Additionally, for seat allotment, the applicants scores in the IIAD exam and academic background shall be considered for selection. IIAD Delhi offers three-year BA programme across four specialisations. The course duration becomes four years as students have to undergo a foundation course as well. Admission to the course is based on merit in the IIAD Design Aptitude Test (IDAT). The course specialisations are as follow:

The last date to fill out the IIAD 2026 application is April 15, 2026. Application is open for UG and PG programmes. The exam will be conducted on April 24 and April 25, 2026 in online and offline mode.

The IIAD entrance test is conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD).

• UG courses: BA. (Hons) in Fashion Design/ Communication Design/ Interior Architecture Design and B.A. (Hons) in Fashion Business Management
• PG courses: MA in Fashion Design and MA in Fashion Business Management

Yes, lateral entry is also available for eligible candidates. Under this scheme, the candidate will be selected based on their performance in the personal interview and portfolio.

The candidate has to apply online for admission under this scheme. The application form will open online at the admission portal of the institute.

For admission to UG courses, the candidate needs to have passed 10+2 exam in any discipline. Those awaiting 10+2 results may also apply. The candidate must make sure that meet the eligibility criteria, as otherwise the candidature of the applicant can be cancelled.

IIAD 2026 exam will be conducted for admission to BA (Hons) Fashion Design, BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design, BA (Hons) Communication Design, BA (Hons) Fashion Business Management, and BA (Hons) Fashion Communication courses.
