You must provide a strong statement of activity justifying your gap, Irish universities are not so competitive but if you have a wasted gap of four years then you must provide supporting statements about it and that you are ready to study after this gap.Additional entrance test may be required, talk directly with some universities, get in touch with the admission representatives and they will help you.

It is recommended to have a work experience which gives you an edge over freshers but the work experience should be relevant and should be of some reputed firm. It will be better if you go for a work experience and then for an MBA.
