If you're residing in another state and need to apply for a Consolidated Mark Statement at the Institute of Distance Education (IDE), University of Madras, you can do so online. The requirement is filling the application at the IDE website and making payment of Rs. 1500 via an online payment gateway (debit/credit cards or net banking) or offline through a challan at Indian Bank.

There is no requirement to visit the office to submit the application form. The application can be all done online.

Yes, if you are  eligible, you can apply for M.Sc. in Cyber Forensics and Information Security (CFIS) at the IDE, University of Madras. Ideally, the eligibility to pursue this course is attained with a graduate degree in any relevant discipline offered by UGC recognized universities of any country, such as computer science, IT, or other allied disciplines. Madras University Distance Education Institute admissions are open throughout the year in the academic year stream (Jul to Jun) as well as the calendar year stream (Jan to Dec). Candidates must take part in the Institute of Distance Education, University of Madras admission process as soon as the admission window opens.

For admission to the BSc course, candidates must have secured minimum marks in Class 12 decided by the college. The college accepts the score of CBSE 12th,  ISC,  Tamilnadu 12th, and various other scores for admission to the BSc and other UG courses. The minimum ISC score required at Madras University Distance Education can be checked on the official website of the college.

Institute of Distance Education University of Madras is not more expensive than the University of Madras. The distance education course fee is less than the fee for the regular college or university. This is due to the fact that offering distance education is not very expensive. The costs like canteen charges, transportation charges, electricity charges, and various other charges can be saved while providing distance education which is not the case for regular college or university.

Madras University IDE does not offer any special discounts or packages for parents during the admission season. Admissions can be done very easily and is available online as well as offline. However, the college is always ready to guide students and parents during the admission process.

The University of Madras founded the Institute of Distance Education, University of Madras in 1981. Currently the college is offering undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and Diploma programmes in a variety of specialisations.
