The MBA (Human Resource Management) course at IDE University of Madras is a two-year course in postgraduation, divided into four semesters and offered in distance mode. The following are the minimal  scores usually required to be admitted to Madras University Distance Education (IDE) MBA programs for the 2023 batch:

1. The educational prerequisite is a bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50% (45% in reserved categories).
2. Minimum 70 percentile for CAT/XAT, 65 percentile for CMAT, 55 percentile for MAT, and 65 percentile for ATMA
3. TANCET- Minimum cutoff announced following the test
4. Work Experience: For the general category, a minimum of two years of work experience is preferred.For reserved categories, one year.New students are welcome to apply as well. Experience is a benefit.
5. No upper age limit; valid scores from national MBA entrance exams, academic records, identification, proof of age, etc.
   Academic performance review, GD, PI, and entrance exam comprise the selection process.

The Madras University Distance Education website currently does not have placement information for 2023. However, according to student feedback on the Shiksha site, 84% of the final batch were placed in prestigious companies. The highest package offered in Madras University distance education admission is INR 35 LPA and the lowest package is INR 7 LPA. Top recruits from Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, ICICI Bank, TCS and other companies have attended Madrasa University Institute of Distance Education.

Candidates must take the MRNAT exam, which is administered by MRIIRS Deemed-to-be University, in order to be considered for admission to the BSc programme in the Faculty of Architecture and Design. The fundamental requirements for eligibility are that the candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam or its equivalent with a minimum cumulative score of 50% in five subjects—English being a required subject—and four subjects with the highest combined score from an accredited board. The official website will release the MRNAT results. The criteria listed in the entrance brochure will be used to produce the MRNAT merit list. University of Madras has opened a Single Window Admission Centre located at the IDE building at Chepauk Campus, Chennai and ensures admission across the counters. Students using the Single Window Admission Centre should know the working hour of this admission center: 

Working Hours: The Single Window Admission Centre functions on all days including Saturdays and Sundays except holidays declared by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The centre is openfrom 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on week days and between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays during admission period only.

The CAT exam is always conducted on the last Sunday of November with the CAT 2024 exam conducted similarly on Nov 24, 2024. Official announcement of the CAT 2024 exam date was made by the convening IIM on Jul 30, 2024. The announcement was made at the iimcat.ac.in website as well as in all the national dailies across India. Registrations cum application process for CAT 2024 began from the first week of August and ended in the third week of September 2024.
