Sorry, but there is no chance to get an NIT just because you have low JEE score and of General category, of course. You can try for some good private college either.

You can get CSE branch in many colleges because your JEE Main score is good enough to get you into a good college. You cannot get IITs or NITs but easily get average government colleges.

This happened, because may be life has something far better than this. The term success is a very complicated thing, and you are trying to judge your success on the basis of a single incident, which in my view is totally worthless. I have seen those who didn't make through the IITs and even the NITs, forced to take admission in a 2 tier college and today is enjoying their life being so called a successful guy in cool companies like google and Facebook.

Yes, you are eligible for JEE Mains Exam. JEE Mains Eligibility criteria is based on following factors:
1. Nationality and Citizenship
2. Educational Qualification
3. Number of subjects in qualifying exam
4. Number of attempts
5. JEE Main 2019 Eligibility Marks etc.
