First, apply for Madhya Pradesh state engineering admission counselling in Madhya Pradesh online when it will start. While filling your choice option, choose government colleges located in Bhopal, Satna, Jabalpur, Indore and Gwalior. Fill the list of colleges of these cities as the last option. Hi Ruturaj,
I think chances are high of getting into NIT and you will definitely be getting an NIT. For Open Category students, I think good branches are available in mediocre NITs and off-beat branches in old and well established NITs. It completely depends on the student. This tool shall help you with colleges you can get based on your score and caste category as well. Here you can translate score into a rank, which will then determine your college for those ranks:

Dear Naveen,
You can get admission in B.Tech through JEE score. Earlier admissions in marine engineering government. Institutions used to take place from your JEE advance rank, but nowadays there is a separate examination known as IMUCET. All admissions in top marine engineering institutions in India take place on basis of your rank in IMUCET examination. Except fore IITs where your JEE rank counts, every other institute has its own entrance examination. Now, all you need is to clear IMUCET and college-specific Entrance Test (if any).

Yes, but computer engineering is a little bit difficult to get. You can try for other branches also.
Rest, it depends upon the cut-off of branches in Thapar.
