In case his JEE score isn't letting him take admission in some good institution or he din't give JEE, then tell him not to get disheartened. Tell him to try for admission somewhere else.
These days we have so many good private universities also imparting quality education to the students around the world. They offer admissions on JEE scores/ tests conducted by them/ your marks in 12th. Some of these also offer good scholarships based on any one of the above mentioned admission criter

if u r sc/st then only u will get any Nit/Gfti
but go for counseling
if u wait till spot round
then most probably u will get any core branch.

But Hrithwik this good score in 12th and this JEE score can help you get you a seat in some of the best private universities that are offering admissions on the basis of JEE score, their own tests and 12th marks. Some may also offer you a good scholarship.

SPA delhi is best institute for architecture and for best you really need a good score. in my opinion you need to score 250+ for guaranteed admission in architecture but 215 would be enough for admission in planning branch.
But with these marks you will get selected in the spot round only. For admission in first round you need a score of 290+.
