Hi Abhi,
To decide on the course, you should analyse your strengths, career goals, interests, personality, aptitude and ability. If you decide based on these parameters you will put in your best effort and will be successful in your chosen field. Always remember, you should pursue a stream/course based on two things :
-your career goal
-the type of job you want to do
Please feel free to discuss more.
Wish you luck.

Hi Mohan, it you belong to general category then its very difficult to secure a seat at NITs, IIITs and GFTIs but you can apply in private engineering institutes. There are various reputed private universities and institutes where you may get admission in their good engineering branches. Some of such institutes are UPES Dehradun, DTU, College of Engineering Pune, Thapar University- Patiala & UTM Shillong (Good for CSE). Hope this information is helpful to you. All the best.
