Be it acceptable or not we will have to abide with rulesw and regulations imposed om us. A number of state boards, including those of Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Assam, Kerala and Karnataka, have delayed submitting their results in the past, leading to delays in publishing ranking lists which in turn delayed the joint counselling for admissions to IITs and NITs. Also the demand of the NITs and IITs for one examination instead of JEE Main and JEE Advance will be examined by the core committee. Both IITs and NITs have been demanding one phase examination instead of two. Under the two-phase test introduced in 2012, the JEE (main) was the first stage that also formed the basis for selection to the NITs, IIITs and centrally funded technical institutions. Those who cleared this test could appear for the JEE (advance) conducted exclusively for the IITs.

JEE Main Paper 2 is conducted for admissions to B.Arch/B.Planning courses at NITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. JEE Mains paper 2 is based on both drawing and maths skills , it has a math section (level is same as the jee mains paper 1) and a sketching and 3D interpretation section. The rank you obtain in paper 2 is independent of the paper 1 rank. The exam, like the paper 1 is conducted by CBSE and helps you secure an admission in SPAs ( School of Planning and Architecture) and the B.Arch courses in NITs. ( SPA Delhi is considered the best in the country).
NATA is a compulsory Exam conducted by the Council of Architecture and most of the institutes /colleges accept only NATA scores. NATA is a test which only tests drawing and 3D interpretation skills and even students from humanities or commerce background can answer the exam.The exam does not test mathematics or science knowledge. The exam is conducted by the Architecture's Association and it helps you secure admission recognized by them and you need to apply to different institutes independently with the NATA scores. CEPT in Ahmadabad is one of the good college which accepts NATA scores.

As per the official website of Joint Entrance Examination (Main) the eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) is:
Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE):
Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2012 or 2013; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2014 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2014. Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2011 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2015 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)-2014. Candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2011, did not pass in 2011, but passed in 2012 are also not eligible to appear in
JEE (Main) 2014.
