Hi Manisha,
The Chemistry book(the NCERT book itself too) is decent for entrance exams(except for the organic part, you'll need extra material for that). The math syllabi in NCERT is good in parts, like for integration, but most other chapters are not sufficiently covered hence the extra reference material might not be enough. The physics book is not good at all.

Hi Lovey,
Assuming that you belong to the general quota, a board score of 85 to 90 % would mean you would need a pretty good score of 200+ . Even though they say board marks count to only 40% , trust me they are the ones which will decide your rank if your jee mains score isn't extraordinary.

Hi Lovey,
SPA Delhi is best institute for architecture and for best you really need a good score. in my opinion you need to score 250+ for guaranteed admission in architecture but
215 would be enough for admission in planning branch. But with these marks you will get selected in the spot round only. For admission in first round you need a score of 290+.

Hi Lovey,
As marks reduce, ranks increase rapidly. Suggested either an exponential function or a polynomial one. Got sufficient data by asking students to send me their marks and ranks – experimenting with the data found a reasonable fit with a formula as rank = ((k – marks) / n)^p.
Thus for 2010, rank = ((480 – marks) / 55)^5.5;
for 2011, rank = ((520 – marks) / 55)^5.5;
and for your year, 2012, rank = ((430 – marks) / 45)^5.5 worked very well (obviously, there is disparity between actual and calculated – more at the top level ranks).

Hi Lovey,
Personally, I don't think they can be compared. Both have different aspects.
JEE BARCH
It includes engineering level maths. You'd prepare for it the same way you'd do for paper 1 maths.
The aptitude section is very easy. Gk and logic questions are easy to crack.
The drawing section isn't very demanding and is just a basic approach.
It is 3 hours paper. ( maths and aptitude. +Drawing paper)
NATA
It includes general maths. The one you studied in 9th-10th std. Hardly 2-3 questions are expected. (Included in the online test among the 40 questions)
It has a drawing paper which requires you to analyse views (like bird's eye view, ant's eye

Hi Sneha,
Jee mains and BITSAT are relatively of the same level though Jee Mains is getting tougher every year. Well for Jee mains, solve NCERT Textbook Exercises and NCERT Exemplar of PCM thoroughly.
What I have realised is that they ask very typical objective questions from chemistry and maths. In physics, I would recommend you to go through the papers since the physics section is relatively tougher. For Jee Mains, also do topics like statistics, mathematical reasoning since they are very easy and fetch you marks. Download Jee mains 2014 and 2013 online papers also, it will give you an insight of the variety of the questions they ask.
