From this year onwards, the method of deciding AIR has undergone change. Now marks obtained in12th will not be considered for AIR. Hence you need to do well in JEE Mains.
Best wishes!

Normally speaking, colleges in Gujrat accept students who have cleared GUJCET. Some private colleges accept JEE Mains score also.

All Institutions in Maharashtra are required to admit students based only on marks obtained in MHT CET and not JEE Mains. Hence, you are advised to appear for this if seeking admission in institute of your choice.

I think both cannot be the same things. Fundamentally, marks decide the ranking. Some state governments are accepting JEE Mains as criteria for admission but then again states are provided with the state ranking. So either states or NIT's, it's rank only.

Yes, from this year onwards, marks obtained in 12th will not be considered. Only your performance in JEE Mains will count. For getting 20k rank, I feel, you will have to score about 280-300.

If you score below cutoffs, it means you cannot appear for JEE Advanced. But, with AIR allotted to you, you can seek admission in any NIT's. If your domiciled state is not conducting own CET, it must be accepting JEE Mains ranking. In this case, you can seek admission in Government College of your state.
