there are a lot of entrance exam going on for different states as well as for different colleges you should try there first and when nothing goes in your favour then think about dropping the year. remove this thought of dropping from your mind totally for now.

Many universities are available in India where you can do best engineering, those ask for very minimal eligibility criteria. Such are GGSIPU, DU, JAMIA, IIT , LOVELY PROFESSIONAL, BIRLA , JAYPEE ETC.

you should better try for private colleges ,you can give exams conducted by them to get branch of your interest and if you want government colleges then you can look for some of the state government colleges of your state.
