Taking CLAT is only mandatory when you want to enter a national law college or a college which accepts CLAT score. It actually depends on the college you select. Mostly, all law colleges either conduct an entrance of their own or accept CLAT scores.
Good luck.

You need to appear for the entrance exam of the university if they conduct any. If you clear the entrance, you can apply to the college. You also need to check the eligibility criteria of the college.
Good luck.

It depends on the college you are selecting. Some colleges accept MHCET scores while some conduct their own entrance exams and some accept CLAT scores too. So, it depends on the university/college you select.
Good luck.

Yes, you can apply for law exams. For national law colleges, you have to appear for CLAT and there are a lot more types of exams and some universities accepted CLAT scores while others conduct their own exams so if you clear them you can join any law course.
Good luck.
