Between Lovely Professional University (LPU) and Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran (CGC Landran), LPU is better. Let's do the factual comparison:
- Better placement opportunities in CSE with more companies visiting the campus.
- Bigger campus with many interesting activities and events.
- More focus on technical skills.
Good for those students who want more exposure and placement.
CGC
- CGC Landran also has opportunities, but as I know, generally fewer than LPU in comparison.
- CGC also has exposure, but in comparison, LPU gives more experience to students.
- CGC campus is smaller but decent for studies.

Dear reader,
Candidates must receive at least 60% overall in 10+2 (including English, Physics, Chemistry, and Math/Biology/Agriculture) in order to be eligible for Lovely Professional University's (LPU) B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program. To ensure that only the most committed students enroll in this ICAR-accredited program, passing the LPUNEST admission exam is also required.

The hostel charges at Lovely Professional University kinda depend on the room type, AC/non-AC option and the sharing category as well. For the 2026–27 session, 4-seater rooms in general sit somewhere around ₹83,000–₹1.1 lakh per year. But 1 , 2 , and 3-seater rooms they end up costing more, you know. Pursuing an MBA in Financial Markets from Lovely Professional University can be, kinda worth it, especially if you're into stock markets and the whole investment banking ecosystem, plus things like wealth management, fintech, trading, and financial analysis. The program usually blends the core MBA curriculum with a more specialized focus , like equity markets, portfolio management , derivatives, risk management, and financial analytics. And beyond that, there's industry exposure through workshops, relevant certifications, and hands-on projects, not just theory.
As for career scope , yes it's generally solid—banks, financial fir

Yeah, if you're sitting at 80.93 percentile in JEE Main, in the General category, then you can pretty comfortably aim for admission into the Mechanical Engineering branch at Lovely Professional University… assuming you also clear the usual eligibility, like roughly 60% aggregate in 12th with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English.
LPU typically takes JEE Main scores for B.Tech admissions as well as scholarships, so that part is covered. Also, Mechanical Engineering is often considered a bit less fierce, compared to branches like CSE. So honestly, your JEE percentile looks decent for getting through there, and you might eve

For lateral entry in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering at Lovely Professional University you typically need a 3 year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical , or a closely related stream) or a B.Sc. (Non Medical) from a recognized place, with the necessary aggregate marks, usually near 60% or a bit above. With lateral entry, you usually step into the B.Tech in the 2nd year, that is 3rd semester, without repeating the first year part. Admission is commonly through LPUNEST (LET – Lateral Entry Test) but in a few scenarios strong marks in the qualifying diploma can give some relaxation , or scholarship type benefits. LPUNEST is generally thought of as the main eligibility and scholarship test for B.Tech programs, including CSBS (Computer Science and Business Systems), at Lovely Professional University. But honestly, it is not always required in every situation , like some students with a valid JEE Main score , and sometimes even CUET scores can still get admission without appearing for LPUNEST , depending on whatever the current admission policy says. Also even when direct admission is possible, a lot of students still prefer to attempt LPUNEST, because it really helps for scholarships and can raise the chances of getting the branch they want.
