IIIT Kancheepuram offers three specialisations for MDes programme, Product Design, Mechanical System Design, and, Communication System Design. Admission to these specialisations is entrance-based and depends on candidates' performance in the Common Entrance Exam for Design, popularly known as CEED, conducted by IIT Bombay. Also before applying to the programme, candidates need to qualify the eligibility criteria: Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Design/ Architecture (under 10+2+4 years regular) with a minimum aggregate of 60% (55% aggregate in case of SC/ ST/ PwD) or equivalent grades in the qualifying degree.

Yes, Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design And Technology accepts CEED score for admission to MDes programme. However, it is no mandatory to qualify CEED. Aspirants can appear for SMEAT conducted by Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design And Technology. Applicants who have taken CEED examination can exempt from Test 1 of SMEAT if their All India Rank is 500 or below provided they are able to submit their result at the time of application.
