You can go for Ph.D. in environmental Science after completing M.Sc. In ecology. Also, you can apply for government jobs as environmentalist by giving government exams and also government provides job opportunities in this field.

For which exam are you asking about? Just specify that first. And yes, if you are going for any entrance exam, then obviously, you need to go through the syllabus first and then prepare accordingly. You will crack the same.
