M.Sc is more like a degree for pure sciences. M.Sc Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Botany, Zoology. There is also M.Sc Computer Science in some Universities. These are typically good for folks who wish to pursue a career in academia or those who wish to do PhD's or MPhil's. I've also seen some folks do a MBA later if they change their minds and join the industry. I've also seen some people with M.Sc. Chemistry who ended up in Chemical & Pharma industries. There's also M.Sc. Pathology where people pursuing this course land up in Pathology labs or Pharma companies. MS is more like a professional course that will be more industry focused. IIIT
