It depends on your interest whether you are interested in microbiology, immunology or zoology. All these fields need basic knowledge of biology. So you should have basic knowledge of biology and should have a good concluding nature about creatures.

It's very nice to know your dream of pursuing postgraduate studies in Germany after doing your engineering in India. Yes, Germany is a good country to opt for. Of course competition is a bit tough here but then I am sure you will work hard to fulfil your dreams. I am attaching a link that will give you all required information.
