To get admission in VIT Vellore MTech, students have to appear for the VITMEE exam. The basic eligibility to apply for the exam is as below:
- BTech/ B.E/ BArch/ BDes/ MCA/ MSc or equivalent in a relevant field from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% aggregate

Of course, you can. In fact, it'll help you dig a lot deeper in the field and prepare you for research-based roles. With a regular BSc IT degree and GATE or any relevant exam score, you can get admission.

The "better" course is a subjective choice. By the name, if you want to go into research, academia and PhD go for M.Sc. If you are more drawn towards the tech industry roles go for MTech. Note that the graduation degree you have determines if you're eligible for the M.Tech course or not. UG courses eligible for M.Tech courses are BE, BTech, BCA for some specializations, a 4 year BSc in a few specializations is also acceptable for MTech. Top M.Tech colleges require you to clear GATE exams.

No, to get admission into IIT Madras MTech course, students have to appear for the GATE exam. This is a part of minimum eligibility criteria for M.Tech course admissions. After clearing the GATE exam, the students are selected on the basis of merit list. The students have to obtain a minimum of 60% in their UG course to be eligiblr for admisison.
