You have scored good marks indeed. From this year onwards admissions to different engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu will be conducted by dte of tech education of Tamil Nadu Govt and not Anna University as was the case till last year. Also counselling will be online with facilitation centres in all districts. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about this.

Tamil Nadu is one state where there are huge amount of seats in different engineering colleges which are not getting filled up following normal procedures. Hence I feel you have a bright chance of getting admission in your desired Institute via lateral mode, after you complete your diploma in Engineering from Maharashtra. Just have a look at the information brochure available on the website of the Anna University for knowing different aspects of this admission process and also a link through which you can actually apply for lateral mode admission.
Best wishes to you.

Normally speaking, lateral entry mode is available to the students having domicile of the state. Anna University is the nodal agency for the state of Tamil Nadu and all government and private colleges. Deemed to be universities are outside the ambit. Admissions are based on marks obtained in Diploma. Hence I suggest you must score well in your Diploma exam. All relevant information is available on the website of Anna University. Best wishes to you.
