Mass communication studies in college usually consists of a combination of mass communication theories, models, aspects of mass media, journalism skillsets like editing, reporting, newspaper and magazine publication, social media content creation skills, public relations, advertising. This is the usual package.
Visual communication studies have to do with a whole lot of entirely different skillsets, both conceptual and otherwise, relating to graphic design - typography, illustration, text and image, infographics, branding and identity, user interface, posters, web design, publication design, packaging design, sequential art and so on.

Hello Venkat,
Definitely you can pursue B.Sc in Visual Communication. There is no age limit for that.You did a right thing by dropping Engineering, as you had 14 backlogs which would have created a serious problem in future and also it would have affected your other semester results and would have had a serious impact on your career as well. Visual Communication is a very good field and plenty of jobs are available for the same after graduation.
