JAM 2026 Examination will be conducted in eight zones. The names of these eight zones with the list of zone-wise Examination Cities are listen on JAM 2026 exam centres (Probable Examination cities of JAM 2026). Candidates must specify their first, second and third choice of cities at the time of applying for JAM 2026. IIT JAM  2024 Counselling process is expected to start from second week of April, 2024. Candidates will be able to fill the admission forms through online mode. Students who will qualify the exam can submit their admission forms with payment of admission application fee. The counselling process will be held in various rounds according to seats availability in each round. On the basis of candidate’s rank, the admission will be offered to the students. Students must bring their complete documents as informed by the authority for the document verification process.

Yes, you may get admission to NIT Rourkela by home state quota. And also, by OBC ranking, you may get electronics or mechanical in NIT Rourkela.

The results will be declared on March 21, 2025 on the JAM 2024 website. For each Test Paper, an All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to all candidates based on their performance.
Tie-Breaking: The tie-breaking criteria for awarding the ranks to candidates scoring the same aggregate marks in a Test Paper will be as follows:
Positive-to-negative marks ratio, followed by NAT marks, and then MSQ marks. Subsequently, if there is a tie, then DOB would be used, where, the older candidate gets better rank.

To be eligible for the IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) in Chemistry, you generally need to have a bachelor's degree in any Science discipline. For the Chemistry paper specifically, you need a bachelor's degree with Chemistry as a major subject for at least two years or four semesters, and Mathematics as a subsidiary subject for at least one year or two semesters.

Since you are pursuing a B.Sc in Zoology with Chemistry and Geology as minor subjects, you may be eligible for the IIT JAM Chemistry exam as long as you meet the specific eligibility criteria mentioned above.
