Masters of Education Entrance Test

IIT JAM  2024 Counselling process is expected to start from second week of April, 2024. Candidates will be able to fill the admission forms through online mode. Students who will qualify the exam can submit their admission forms with payment of admission application fee. The counselling process will be held in various rounds according to seats availability in each round. On the basis of candidate’s rank, the admission will be offered to the students. Students must bring their complete documents as informed by the authority for the document verification process.

An Applicant was considered for admission only to the programme choices filled in the Admission Form. There were four rounds of admission, in the normal case. If seats remain vacant, additional rounds may be conducted. Applicants receiving an offer in any of the rounds are required to login at the official website within the stipulated time and choose one of the three options viz.  (a) Accept and Freeze (b) Accept with Upgrade (c) Reject and Quit. 

The results will be declared on March 21, 2025 on the JAM 2024 website. For each Test Paper, an All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to all candidates based on their performance.
Tie-Breaking: The tie-breaking criteria for awarding the ranks to candidates scoring the same aggregate marks in a Test Paper will be as follows:
Positive-to-negative marks ratio, followed by NAT marks, and then MSQ marks. Subsequently, if there is a tie, then DOB would be used, where, the older candidate gets better rank.

For each Test Paper, an All India Merit list will be prepared based on AIR. The number of candidates included in the All India Merit List will depend on the total number of seats available in each category (GEN/ OBC-NCL/ EWS/ SC/ ST/ PwD) in a given subject.

Prior to filling the IIT JAM 2024 application form, aspirants must ensure that they fulfil the IIT JAM 2024 eligibility criteria.

• In order to fulfil the IIT JAM 2024 eligibility criteria, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree. 
• Candidates who had appeared or will appear for their graduation exams in 2024 are also eligible to apply, provided they submit the proof by September 2024.
• For the admission process, candidates who would pass the IIT JAM 2024 exam will be eligible to apply for the admission process.

Till the year 2021, the eligibility criteria for IIT JAM stated that candidates should secure a minimum 55 per cent aggregate or 5.5 CGPA/CPI out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates and 50 per cent aggregate or 5.0 CGPA/CPI for the reserved category candidates. However, from 2022 onwards, this criterion was relaxed. Now, applicants will have to get a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject, and no eligibility cutoff is there.

You must have a Bachelor's degree with mathematics as one of the disciplines for a minimum of two years/four semesters in order to be eligible for the IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.). Make sure you spent at least two years, or four semesters, studying mathematics during your undergraduate programme.Minimum Qualifying Marks: In addition to the subject-specific eligibility requirements, the qualifying examination (Bachelor's degree) may include minimum qualifying mark requirements for the various categories (General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD). The pamphlet will provide comprehensive eligibility requirements and subject-specific specifications. Subject Paper: For the IIT JAM, select the appropriate subject paper.
