IIT JAM Application Form 2024: Modification Window & Fees

Only those candidates who have submitted the application form and paid the requisite application fee will be eligible to make the changes in the application form. 

If candidates made any mistake in IIT JAM 2024 registration forms, they can correct it in the correction window. Here we have provided steps to correct the application form:

• Visit the website of IIT JAM 2024 official website- https://jam.iitm.ac.in/ 

• Click on JOAPS portal or application form correction link.

• Then click on the login button & enter user id and password.

•  After login you can change specific details in IIT JAM 2023 Application form.

•  Save the changes and take the printout of the form for future uses.

After logging into the JOAPS portal, candidates will be able to see whether their IIT JAM 2024 application form has been scrutinized by the exam authorities and accepted by them or not. Below is the screenshot of how the candidate's account interface will be visible. 

If candidates are satisfied with their JAM 2024 application form, then they do not need to take any action. If they have committed or filled out the application form with incorrect details, then they can edit the application form by clicking on the options mentioned on their account.

The IIT JAM 2024 modification window allows candidates to make changes to their personal information, educational qualification details, exam center preferences, and other relevant particulars. The aim is to ensure that all applications are accurate and complete before the final processing stage.

• Choice of exam centers and exam cities

• GCP (for changing Gender or Category or PwD status in the application)
• Change other details: Name, DoB, Parent/Guardian Name, College Name, Year of Passing, Communication Address.

The candidates must note that the choice modification is free of cost and they do not need to pay any fee for it, but the change of in some other details would cost students a fee as mentioned below:

Step 1: Register at JOAPS

First, candidates have to register themselves at the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) by filling and submitting details such as name, email address, mobile number, and password. Once candidates registered for the exam successfully, they were sent an email and SMS containing their enrollment ID. Candidates need to save the enrollment ID and thereafter proceed towards filling JAM 2024 application form.

Step 2: Fill Details in IIT JAM Application Form

Candidates needed to log in to their accounts using their respective enrollment IDs and passwords. Thereafter, candidates had to start filling the information in their IIT JAM 2024 application form. Details that candidates have to fill in the application form are:

• Exam details: Here, candidates have to select one or two test papers for which they want to write the exam. However, in the case of two papers, candidates has to ensure that both exams are conducted in different sessions.

• Exam centre details: Here, candidates need to select cities where they want to take the test. They can select a maximum of three cities.

• Personal details: This section requires candidates to mention their name, date of birth, gender, category, parents’ names, etc.

• Correspondence address: Here, candidates have to mention the address where they would like to receive any future communication. The address is needed to mention with the pin code.

• Educational details: Here, candidates has to mention their educational qualification details such as the name of the qualifying degree, year of passing, college/ university name, marks obtained, etc.

• Photograph: Candidates have to upload (in JPEG format) their passport-size coloured photograph with a white/ very light colour background after August 1, 2023, in a professional studio. The file size should be between 5 KB and 200 KB. Selfie or informal photographs with sunglasses, hats or caps will not be accepted.

• Signature: Candidates have to upload the digital image of their signature made on A4 white paper in a rectangular box with a black or dark blue ink pen. The file size should be between 5 KB and 100 KB.

Once all details are filled in, candidates can submit the form and proceed to the next step of the application process.

After the form is submitted, a new window would open that would display the name and enrollment ID of the candidate. The window will also display the amount to be paid by the candidate as the application fee. After checking these details, candidates need to click on the 'Proceed to Payment' button.

Candidates can pay IIT JAM 2024 application fee in online mode through internet banking/ debit card/ credit card.

Candidates needed to possess the below-mentioned data/ documents to successfully fill the application form for IIT JAM 2024.

• Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parent's name, parent's mobile number, etc.)
• Address for communication (including PIN code)
• Eligibility degree details
• College name and address with PIN code
• JAM Paper(s) Code
• Choice of JAM examination cities
• High-quality passport-size photograph 
• A high-quality image of the candidate’s signature 
• Scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
• Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
• Details of the valid Identity Document (ID). Candidates should carry this original ID proof to the exam centre.
• Net-banking/ debit card/credit card details for fee payment

Note: The name of the candidate in the JAM application form must be the same as mentioned in their qualifying degree certificate. IIT JAM scorecard 2024 will be issued as per the name entered in the application form. Prefix/ titles such as Mr/ Shri/ Dr/ Mrs/ Smt, etc. should not be used before the name in the IIT JAM application form 2024.

Candidates will receive a confirmation email and SMS from the exam authorities. Candidates must note that the application fee will also be impacted in case there is a change in category. In that case, they will have to pay the additional fee to make their application valid.

How to fill IIT JAM 2024 Admission Form?

Once IIT JAM 2024 result is declared, candidates need to fill and submit an admission form. It is necessary to fill the IIT JAM 2024 admission form to take part in the counselling process. Candidates can fill and submit the application form for the IIT JAM admission process as under:

1. Visit the official website of IIT JAM.
2. On the homepage of JOAPS, candidates need to enter their IIT JAM 2024 enrollment ID, password, and captcha code to log in.
3. After this, candidates need to fill in their details, including, choice of courses and colleges in order of preference in the "Application form for Admission" available on the dashboard.
4. Upload all the required documents or undertaking if some documents are not available.
5. Next, pay the application fee for IIT JAM 2023 admission form, i.e. INR 600 using Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking options.
6. Once, all information has been filled in correctly, candidates can submit the form in online mode only. 

This is a common application form for all participating IITs and candidates need not send any hard copy of the IIT JAM admission form to the respective institutes.

Candidates need to upload the scanned files of the following documents on the JOAPS portal when filling the application form. 

• Class 10 and 12 certificates and mark sheets
• Qualifying degree mark sheets for all semesters
• Nationality certificates - Date of Birth certificate or Voter ID or First page of Passport or School Transfer Certificate or Aadhaar Card as issued
• Category certificates - respective certificates as issued for OBC-NCL/ EWS/ SC/ ST category
• PWD certificate for Persons with Disability
