If your Mechanical Engineering is a Graduation degree, then you are eligible.

You can appear for UGC NET. University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)is conducted in order to select candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges. When my friend got admission, that time the fee was INR 1.75 Lacs per year (including all hostel deposits and all) after that, acting course got subsidies and eventually fee structure reduced to INR 30k per year. For the exact fee structure, now you can visit to official FTII website, and you can contact to admin also in tutorial section.

PDF cannot be uploaded here. But, you can easily find question paper on google now a days. If you still cannot find the practice set. You will have to visit a local book seller. They usually have Xeroxes of such papers.

There is no Diploma course in education at Symbiosis Distance Learning. NIOS provides D.El.Ed through open mode if you are interested. But, there are various other diploma courses provided by Symbiosis Center for Distance learning. Find them here at http://www.scdl.net/DiplomaPrograms.aspx
