For admission to two-year MCA course at Chandigarh University, there is a minimum eligibility that needs to be fulfilled at the time of admission. As per the university's official website, those who are willing to get admission to MCA course at CU must pass graduation either in BCA or any equivalent UG degree in the respective subjects from a recognised university. If students get a UG degree in other streams such as BA/ BCom or BSc, they must have studied Mathematics as one of their main subjects. Candidates who have completed graduation in any stream with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for reserved category) can apply for the MCA course. Additionally, admission to St. Xavier's Bangalore MCA course is based on merit in the last qualifying exam.

For admission to BIT Mesra MCA course, eligibility criteria fulfilment is necessary. Thus, candidates should have passed BCA/BSc in Computer Science, Computer Application and IT with a minimum aggregate of 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) to be eligible. In addition, an aspirant should have passed the qualifying examination from a recognised university. Further, candidates should keep the documents handy at the time of admission form filling and admission confirmation. These documents are required for verification purposes.

Thapar University offers a two-year full-time MCA course at the postgraduate level. To be eligible for Thapar University MCA admission, candidates must have a Bachelors degree of a minimum 3 years duration in any discipline from a recognised University with a minimum aggregate of 60% (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate. For TIET MCA admission, it is also mandatory that a student must have studied Mathematics at Class 12 level or at the graduation level. Candidates who have passed graduation with Maths or graduation without Maths in Class 12/ BSc IT/ BCA can apply for Amity University Jaipur MCA course. Candidates without Mathematics in Class 12 or graduation, can still apply, by availing the option of a bridge course as per the norms of the university.
