I can tell from my experience - I did B.Com and then MCA. Only because I had Business Mathematics as a subject in my 2nd year, I was able to get admission for MCA. In our class, 60 candidates were admitted, out of which 6 were non-computer Science background students (from under graduation like B.Com B.Sc. Physics etc. ), and within the 1st semester 4 guys discontinued as they were not able to understand the basic concepts in Computer Science. If you are looking for an idea about the quality of education with Georgian College, it is a great school. I went there and I felt confident that I learned valuable skills about my chosen industry. Personally, I feel that Georgian College, depending on your career ambitions and goals, it is a great place to start. If you are looking to get into an executive business career you should consider moving on to university afterwards to acquire more management and specialised business skills. No, a written test (online Computer based test) is the first step if you go for MCA in a prestigious institutes ex. NITs. Otherwise, you can get direct admission to private colleges if seats are available.

Pondicherry University is a good university for pursuing MCA with a decent faculty and curriculum. As for the placements, it largely depends on the performance of the students and the market demand. The university has a placement cell that helps students with job opportunities, but it is advisable to do your own research and preparation to enhance your chances of getting placed.
