As some of my friends graduated from LPU would surely recommend LPU. Let me share the course and the department highlights as shared by them. The school has well qualified and experienced faculty members with specialisation in various fields like, Aerospace Engineering, Automobile Engineering, CAD/CAM, Engineering Design, Industrial Engineering, Machine Tool Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Metallurgy, Robotics, Thermal Engineering, etc. Student has an Automobile club under Society of Automobiles India, Under which the teams has participated in various competitions by making there vehicle in Supra SAE (Student Formula CAR), Baja SAE India, BAJA SAE USA, Efficycle. Organized International Go kart Championship which is a student initiated automotive event the first international event of its kind receiving participation from all over ASIA. Students gets hands on practice in labs and workshops like Advance machine shop, nontraditional and computer aided manufacturing laboratory, Automobile engineering Lab, IC Engine Lab, Mechanical Measurement and Metrology, Strength of Material Lab, Theory Of Machines/Dynamic Of Machines Lab, Thermal/Heat Transfer Lab, finite element methods laboratory, engineering graphics laboratory, object oriented programming laboratory, computer aided design and analysis laboratory, basic simulation laboratory, Propulsion Lab, Aerodynamics Lab, Welding Shop, Pattern Making Shop, Foundry shop, advanced design laboratory and engineering drawing lab. So far the students have been placed in the companies like Asahi Glass India Ltd. Cognizant Tech Mahindra Anglo Eastern Ship management Zycus Think and Learn Cactus Communications XL Dynamics Lava International Unisys JET Airways ELGI (Off Campus) Daikin Airconditioning Honda Voltas TATA Motors Cummins India.

Mechanical department has best of the faculty I guess in whole north of India University as most of the faculty members are Ph.D. Holders from reputed institutes. They all are so helpful not only in providing education but also helping you to excel in various research fields. Moreover they will guide you how to crack PIs GATE and have some good patents

Mechanical department at CU has the best of the Infrastructure
as they have well-equipped labs and workshops. On the top of it few labs are also developed in collaboration with industrial tie ups like HONDA lab, Mahindra & Mahindra T school, Flexible manufacturing system lab (First in north India). Students are given the access to labs till late night hours so that they can work on their projects without hassles. Placements
