Hi,
After your Diploma you can go for B.Tech Lateral Entry in any of the streams. It will be of 3 years rather than normal B.Tech, which is of 4 years. It means you can straight way enroll into 2nd year of your Bachelor's degree. Students prefer this course with an idea of securing a well-paid job after the completion of their professional degree course. Hello,
I think it's quite late to answer your query. But let me attempt. Fundamentally all branches are similar and have similar job opportunities. But many a times it's a cyclical process. Some may shine this year while others may in next years. But what I would rec is that one should select only that branch which one likes.

Yes, you are eligible if you have better rank in MAT. There is 5% relaxation for Sc/MNC/ST candidates.
A minimum of 60% marks is required in the undergraduate degree from a recognized university or institution.
The Bachelor's degree should be of minimum 3 years duration after completion of higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent.
The candidates should have studied in regular full-time programmes.
The candidate appearing for final year examination in the current academic year, whose results get published before August, is also eligible to apply. Relevant work experience will be an added advantage.

If you are interested in pursuing your career as a Design Engineering, you can learn one of the design software like AutoCAD, CATIA, PTC Creo, SolidWorks, etc. In case you are interested in analysis/simulation, you can go through some short courses in analysis software like Ansys, MoldFlow, Fluent, etc.
