If you have completed your Diploma in mechanical then you can't do B.Tech but you can complete your AMIE IEI. With this AMIE, you can pursue a Bachelors in engineering which is equivalent and get a civil engineering degree.

It purely depends upon your interest in the specific field. But, considering placements, CSE has more frequent opportunities as today every company needs the IT and computer people. Mechanical engineering is a core branch and It also has lot of opportunities of placements. But, again if your preference is towards salary and placements, going with CSE is a good opt.

According to me, you should follow your interest and coming to placements, nowadays there are a lot of IT companies which require talented youngsters and your interest and enthusiasm towards the stream will help you learn better and package you get in computer stream is also good if you work hard in 4 years of engineering and do good projects you will get good company and package and coming to mechanical if you want to go for it. It is an evergreen stream but problem is that nowadays most of the things are automated which reduces the scope for mechanical. So take your decision wisely. I am not aware of the Shiv Nadar University as Chandigarh University provides the best placements for B.Tech mechanical engineering. For admissions, call on general admission helpline numbers.
