The minimum eligibility required to be met for admission to the course is graduation completed with science from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
A few universities and colleges in India conduct entrance examinations for admission to the course.

After B.Tech in mechanical, you can take an exam for higher studies as well as for jobs.
The following are some of the exams for higher studies:
1) GATE (for engineering in India)
2) GRE (for engineering abroad)
3) GMAT (for management abroad)
4) CAT, MAT and XAT (for management in India)
5) TOEFL/IELTS (for English proficiency)
Some exams for jobs in government sector are:
1) IES (Indian engineering services)
2) UPSC (Union Public Service Commission)
3) IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection)
4) SSC (Staff Selection Commission)
4) BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited)

I am afraid, lateral admission would be possible only in Maharashtra. Presently, only IITs are allowing Diploma as equivalent to class 12th. However, as you desired, I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about top colleges offering Aeronautical Engineering.

You must complete at least 12 year education to pursue Bachelors course. Your Diploma course must at least be of 2 year duration to qualify you for further studies. Your grades are very good, you are advised to contact some universities directly before you apply. Also, to study in USA, you must take SAT or ACT. International applicants must also take IELTS or TOEFL to meet the English language requirements. You will also have plenty of options in Australia. Good luck.
