Hello Sharath,
Lateral admission directly in the 2nd year of engineering is available to students of the state who have completed Diploma from that state. However, you need to visit the webpage of DTE of Tech. Edu of your state to know the eligibility.

Hello Satyam,
Yes, you are eligible for admission but you have to appear in the exam WBJEE for getting admission here. In exam you have to be under top 5k rank then only you can get admission in this college.

You should appear for JEE Mains / state entrance exam of your state or you can give VITEEE, SRMJEE, BITSAT or KIITEE to get admission for BE in mechanical engineering.

Perhaps you can if some universities are allowing it. Normal universities don't. But if I may ask: Why shift from mechanical (great job potential) to aeronautical (lower job opportunities)?
