The admission into VIT Vellore and other campuses is based on the entrance exam called VITEEE. To get mechanical branch at VIT Vellore, you need to have a rank below 5000.
Scholarships:
The scholarships are offered for those who get a rank below 1000 and those below 10000 get a scholarship based on their board exam percentage.
Fees:
The general fee structure is 1,75,000/- per annum (tuition fees) and if you require hostels then you need to pay around 50k-1 lakh or so.
There are categories in the admission which is another way to intake many students with higher fee.
There will be 5 categories and the fees increase by 1 lakh for every category.
Placement:

The first step towards deciding what MBA stream to pursue is to take into account your past career experiences and make a well thought-out decision about your future career goals. The mixture of your past work experiences with future graduate degree will lead you toward achieving your objective. Without a career objective you cant determine which pathway is optimal to achieve your goals.
If your ultimate career objective is to manage a group of people who do technical work, you may consider an MBA with Engineering Management specialization. Otherwise, you may want to pursue an MBA in general management or project management. The key question to answer when evaluating your career goals is how much you wish to get involved with business oriented functions of your company. If there is no reason for you to study accounting, finance or strategic management skills, then a technically oriented Masters degree might be suitable. On the other hand, if you expect to work in a managerial position for your company and need skills in areas like strategy, finance, marketing etc. then an MBA in these particular specializations will meet your needs.
To sum up, if you see your career moving away from the technical work and towards managing teams or departments into other functional areas, then MBA with required specializations is appropriate.
