As COEP has only 12 seats of mechanical engineering so admission chances in COEP are less. You will atleast need aggregate of 96% in your Diploma for general category.

All IITs, NITs and government Engineering colleges are best in every engineering disciplines. So, participate in JEE Main and Advance and secure a good rank. The college will be allotted through JOSSA and CSAB round will be the best for you.

Please tell me about the state and district where you wish to pursue the course. However, if you belongs to Maharashtra, then every district have one or more Polytechnic colleges. The admission in these polytechnics are done through the common entrance test (CET) and centralized admission process (CAP). Hence, if you have completed your class 10th with 35% of marks, then you can apply for entrance test. After clearing CET, CAP round will be started for admission.

Hello Sajal,
Oh, getting confused? Just don't worry. It's quite common. Placements is actually a bit of complex subject. It fundamentally depends on economic and industrial climate in the country at the time of your passing out. Be that as it may, one cannot wish away the fact that IIT's followed by NIT's are the prime hunting grounds for private companies. These are followed by well-known deemed to be universities. So, I would recommend that you seek admission in this fashion. Best wishes to you.

Hello Bala,If you had given some additional information, it would have been better to advise you. Anyway let me attempt. Distance education universities like IGNOU have a well laid out procedure wherein a student registers online and university sends study material by post/courier. Assignments need to be submitted to designated study centers. Some universities have everything online. Study material is sent online, assignments are to be online and exam is also online but at designated places. Once you download brochure of any such University, you will come to know all about it. Best wishes to you.

As far as I know for mechanical engineering, you need to consider IIITDM (Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing). IIITDM Jabalpur is the best option. IIITDM Kanchipuram is decent and IIITDM Kurnool is quite new, so can't say anything about that college. If you really want Mechanical Engineering, you should go for NITs or IITs. They are the best colleges for that.
