Let me answer your question on the basis of two parameters-
Career Scope- No doubt, Piping engineering has more career scope compared to HVAC, since there are vast modules involved that too with different areas to choose I. e from Layout, Stress & Materials. Competitiveness in Industry- Here, unfortunately, chances are less that you may get a job as a fresher since MNC companies like Jacobs, Petrofac and others hire only experienced candidates (unless you are campus placed), so it may become very difficult to get a break in the industry. Hi,
The placement of M.E Mechanical students at BITS is quite good and the average package is around 7-8 LPA at reputed companies which is at par with IITs. For more info, visit this link: https://www.bits-pilani.ac.in/pilani/me
and https://www.bits-pilani.ac.in/pilani/placementsOverview.
all the best

As per the admission procedure, the 60% of seats are reserved for NE students based on merit ranking in JEE Mains and 40% for the rest through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
The intake also includes admission to students under Self Supported Schemes (SSS) and State Rank Holders of (10+2) Science Examinations of NE States securing above 85% in aggregate.
So, there is no need to give any entrance exam separately for B.Tech programs.

Hey Vishwash,
There are less chances for you to get ME in NIT KKR with this rank.
The cut-off generally goes around 17k-18k. So, I don't think you can get mechanical here, but you can try for other branches such as Civil, Electrical, PIE.
I hope it helps!
Thank you

Depends. Think about your job as both and then decide which to chose. You can opt for design after completing Mechanical Engineering too. Although Design is also a great option if your sole focus is designing.
