After completing BE, you have a lot of opportunities like me. MBA and many other than engineering course. But according to my point of view, ME and MBA are the best options after completing BE. If you have an interest in management then you should go for MBA because it is having a good placement record.

It's very nice to see your dream of studying abroad. Yes it's unique experience. I would advise you to contact an agency in India dealing with admissions in US universities. There are many nuances and if you miss even one, chances of admission diminish.

Stream change after the first year is completely dependent on the college and university norms, some universities allow it and some won't plus you need to have good scores in the first year to apply for the same. For further details, contact the college authorities.

You have to get your degree evaluated by WES. However, write to the concerned admission department of NYU and check before applying.

First year is your basic year it as provides you the knowledge of every stream because after completing first year you have a chance to change your stream according to your field of interest and more importantly study is never waste of time.
