1. VIT Chennai: You are eligible as external part time candidate. Eligibility: - Master's degree in Engineering / Technology / Business Administration with a first class or a minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale) or equivalent like M.Sc. (Engineering) / M. S. by Research. Procedure:-
1. Applications will be invited by open advertisement in all leading newspapers / local announcement for all categories of candidates mentioned in section 2. Out of the applications received, the School / Centers will short-list the candidates to be called for written and test / interview to be conducted at the institute on a pre-announced date.
3. Selection will be based on the overall merit index of the candidate which will be arrived at by taking into account the candidates performance in the previous university examinations at Bachelors and Masters level and the performance in the written test and / the interview.
4. The weightage for arriving at the overall merit index will be as follows: Bachelor's degree 20 %, Master's degree 20 %, Written test and / Interview 60 % Candidates qualified in CSIR UGC NET for JRF may be exempted from the written test requirement. You have asked a very interesting but pertinent query. Whether to do Masters in Canada for Germany? Both the answers have pros and cons. In Canada, the advantage is that the medium of instruction is English and it is convenient for students from India. In addition, Canada is reasonably well industrialized and getting jobs after post-graduation is not difficult at all. On the other hand, Germany is considered as the leading country for mechanical engineering. Hence the courses for post-graduation studies are well suited for mechanical engineers. However one needs to know German language as in majority of the cases medium of instruction is German. Hence, I would advise you to take into account these pros and cons and then decide in which country you want to do your Masters. Yes, you are reasonably right. Majority of the institutions in Germany expect you to be fluent in German language and hence the language of teaching invariably is German. So, if you are thinking of doing MS in Germany you better start learning German language right now. Of course these days, there are few colleges in Germany which teach in English also but they are few and not very recommendable. The best course of action for you which I suggest is doable and better for you will be to start learning German immediately and as you progress in the language you will gain confidence and will be able to do your studies in Germany with Convection. Okay, Germany like other Western European countries is fighting the problem of diminishing population.
