From the company's point of view, they want somebody who fits in their criteria, have potential to face challenges, innovative thinking and much more. Companies don't bother about your gender, what matters is how you are doing. So, choose your desired field and do it perfectly.

Hello friend, about 10% seats of total seats are reserved for lateral entry students but this is not kept by every university, some universities allow LEET students, but some don't allow.
So you must check this thing with the university.

There are lot of option for mechanical engineer graduate. I am writing this answer, because I am also a mechanical engineer, basically after doing mechanical you can apply in IIM, IAS and all other civil services exam, but if you are really interested in the mechanical engineering, then I will appreciate you to choose mechanical engineering. Now, come on the core mechanical engineering career options. Basically, you will learn three type of courses in B.Tech.
1) Manufacturing related (material Science, manufacturing Science, solid work, auto cad etc. )

You need to contact the college officials for Lateral Entry. They have not listed a separate course for Lateral Entry. Hence, it would be advisable to get in touch with the college officials for verified information.
